Polyurethane foam PUF) provides thermal insulation to prevent hydrate formation in gas pipelines and helps to maintain viscosity in subsea gas pipelines or hot oil lines.
The coating is often used for applications requiring:
transportation of hot fluid from thermal power stations to factories or residential units
transport of oil and chemicals
district heating and cooling

PUF also helps build up the thickness of the FJC to that of the concrete weight coating (CWC) infill and is part of a multilayered coating system composed of FBE + PUF + PE.
PUF Equipment
PUF coatings can be applied in a wide range of weights, thicknesses, and diameters. It is common to apply the HDPF coating over anti-corrosion and/or mechanical protection coating materials such as HSS.
