RAE and UT Quality Complete Subsea Umbilical, Flowline, and Tieback Work in the Lucius Deepwater Field
Overview
Lucius is a deepwater field containing high-quality crude oil and associated gas. It involves six subsea production wells tied back to a moored production handling spar connected to the shore through dedicated oil and gas pipelines. Lucius produces oil and gas through a truss spar floating production facility.
In May of 2018, RAE was awarded a contract from McDermott to jointly provide subsea umbilical and flowline work in support of a tieback to the Anadarko-operated Lucius field in the deep waters of the US Gulf of Mexico. This new development is in about 7,400 ft of water in Keathley Canyon block 919. The rigid flowlines were fabricated at the McDermott spoolbase in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Lucius was brought online just over three years after project sanctioning - in 2021.
